Re: ODF

I have been asking for years for a better ODF support. I have reported several issues when handling ODT files, some of this issues has been fixed, others have not. I am glad someone else is now interested on this. One of the issues ODT has in TextMaker is that what it gets generated in TextMaker ...

Re: Poor export as ePub in Beta 9

I haven't tried the epub exported on the beta. To my acknowledgment no changes have been made to it.

Last time I tried was in the 2024 version and I found that part of the issue was that TM uses the old epub2 specification instead of the cleaner epub3. I also found that the way TM splits chapters ...

Re: Application Icons not showing

Check /usr/share/icons and make sure the icons for SMO are there, at least in the the hicolors folder. If in any of the subfolders can be found, hence the problem because hicolor is the backfall icon theme (This means: If the icon theme you use does not have an icon, it searches for it in hicolor ...

Re: TM does not generate valid ODF documents

I tried again with a fresh generated file with the exact same text and styles as the file provided in my original post for the 2024 version and still, TM 2026 beta in unable to produce ODT files that are considered valid. Is there any progress from the team?

Re: Coments

I don't know if given the fact of the new features added to comments, in witch comments can be marked as solved and can be answered too this would be the best approach, but I'll wait for the next beta and see if your solution is better than it seems to be.

Re: Coments

Behaviour has improved, but the problem still remains. Now the comments pane can fit about 32 comments per page. But if fore some reason you have more than that, we go back to the same initial problem. Sure... it may not be common, but there are cases, maybe quite rare) when this happens and you may ...

Re: Macros

Seems like some contexts is needed...

TextMaker has been around for a very long time. PlanMaker has been also around for quite some time too. Initially it was a windows-only release, then they started to expand. BasicMaker, as far as I know, is modeled closely to MS VBA, heck even their own SMO ...

Supertech answered that for you: «Due to technical constraints on Linux and other non-Windows OSes, BasicMaker (which is similar to VBA macros) is not implemented.»

Re: Macros

LibreOffice is mostly a java application and for macros, I think, in part it relies on python plus some very limited support of MS old basic macros. OnlyOffice is an electron app so it probably goes for a solution based on js similar to that offered by MS on their web version of office. Probably ...

Re: Coments

Not what I mean.

In a letter size page the UI can fit 12 comments. If you have, lets say.... 15 comments on that page, only 12 are shown on the pane and there is no way to scroll down the comments pane to see the remaining 3. The only way is to click comment 12, then use the next button on the ...

Re: Coments

Even with the must improved UI for comments, and now displaying properly, there is still no way to scroll comments when the number of comments on a page is so high that not all can be shown on the comments panel. There should be a way to scroll down without having to go, one by one, using the next ...

Re: Language tool

Given this (See screenshot), and what is said there, I think is a *VERY* good idea to addthe option in TM to be able to configure Grammar Checking to work with custom LanguageTool's instances.

Re: Cannot Install Office NX on Bazzite via rpm-ostree - 404 on Public Key Retrieval

You could extract the contents of the rpm file and follow the guide to install SMO into a USB flash drive, as a base to have it installed in $HOME instead, tricking it to think is a portable version. At least in theory.

This are the kind issue you run into when you use niche distributions that also ...

Re: Language tool

Language Tool is not planned for FreeOffice—it's a commercial feature only available in Pro or NX subscription.

I never mentioned FreeOffice. Let's not confuse the concepts. LanguageTool can be used in three different ways:

1. Self-host. As Martin mentioned the drawback is the grammar filters ...
