Section & Chapter break problem

Post by Woody44 »

I have a master document (template) for a monthly newsletter that was created in Microsoft Word 2016. The format calls for article headlines to span the full (margin) width of the pages, but the body text of each article occupies two columns. In Word, this is accomplished by using a continuous section break (Insert > Break > Section > Continuous) to allow changing from a single column to two columns on the same page.

When the same document is opened in TextMaker 2026, the <Section Break (Continuous)> tag is converted to a Chapter break tag and the two columns of body text are moved to the top of the following page. I attempted to correct for this by replacing the Chapter break with a Section break, and it did not resolve the problem.

Please fix it. Formatting consistency with Microsoft Word documents is essential.
