If it is not there, you can also add this command to the status bar via Tools > Customize (search for "Current language" command on the top left of the Customize dialog box).

I prefer this method, rather than customizing the upper toolbars. My license for SoftMaker Office Professional only covers five computers. I have more than five. I put FreeOffice on some older laptops, and FreeOffice doesn't allow customizing the menu toolbars. But it does show the language in the lower status bar, and "No language" is an available option, so this works for every situation.

What I haven't confirmed is how well this transfers to MS Word when the file is sent to someone who doesn't use TextMaker.

In MS Word, the "No language" option doesn't exist. But they use the "Do not check spelling or grammar" option for the same result - to cancel hyphenation for a single word or text passage.

You can check this setting in MS Word by selecting the non-hyphenated word and in the status bar click on the current language.
The setting "Do not check spelling or grammar" is disabled for this word and enabled for the rest of the text.

So, when you save a file from TextMaker in a .docx format, the ""No language" setting (TextMaker) is transformed to a "Do not check spelling or grammar" setting (MS Word).
