Nag messageboxes on start

Hello.

I am one of your customers and a user of Office 2024. I paid, penny by penny, for your software. When I decide to upgrade to a new version, I’ll do so. Thanks to your emails and website, I’m fully up to date. I do NOT need to be interrupted by annoying advertising message boxes whilst I’m working. Your software is for editing documents, presentations and spreadsheets, not for sending me adverts.

I understand that you want – and need – to sell your product by any means necessary. But if you aim to be a reputable company that builds mutually beneficial relationships with its customers, there are certain limits to what constitutes ‘by any means necessary’. Please do not cross them.

Just as you’ve enabled that ‘feature’, you can disable it. Do so. I use Linux and your Office 2024 as my way of curing myself of Microsoft cancer; don’t follow their deplorable example, because in this environment, cancer can be cured through a transplant.

Thank you for explaining your concerns. The message is intended to inform SoftMaker Office 2024 users about the availability of SoftMaker Office 2026. Upgrading is entirely optional, and your existing license remains usable.

You can disable them by disabling the program-internal update checker in File | Options.
