Textmaker select text

I can not select text as written in manual pag 65.
Also <ctrl-a> does not have any effect.

I am surprised: basic function.

Does anybody recognise it?

I'm not finding this issue.

Opened an existing document in WORD.
Copied it
Opened new document in Textmaker
CRTL-V
No problems pasting it.
CTRL-A
CTRL-C
Opened new document in Textmaker
CRTL-V
No problems pasting it.
Closed it
Opened it
No problems

Created a new empty document in Textmaker
Wrote a few lines
Opened new document in Textmaker
CRTL-V
No problems pasting it.

I immediately verified and you’re right of course. I am happy.
Two remarks:
I had an update, but I can not imagine that was the solution.
The selection I made are not clear on the screen.

So I replaced on another PC also TextMaker: functions work and are visible.

I will investigate how to change the visibility win-pc.
