Spectacular bug

Post by megabob »

Hello

Just to report an irritating bug in the beta NX version. It happens in all beta apps - Planmaker, Textmaker and Presentations.

If you run any beta NX app on the latest stable macOS while the laptop (M series) is in clamshell mode and the monitor is a
wide type of monitor (that monitors that curve and have many pixels in width but not so much in height)... the bottom 3/4 of the screen turns black
and in 2s the mac reboots.

If the mac is open and I run the app, nothing crashes. So it must be something with clamshell + wide monitor (many pixels).

Thank you for your support. If you need anything more from me, ask.

System data:
- PlanMaker NX Universal - Beta (rev S1415.0606) 64bit ARM

The system info that the app writes has personal information, so I will not expose it here in the raw format.

Thank you for reporting this issue. A full system reboot indicates a kernel panic, which is a serious crash at the operating system level, and we want to investigate this as a priority.

To help us reproduce and diagnose the problem, could you please provide the following information:
  1. macOS version – Please go to Apple menu > About This Mac and share the exact version number.
  2. Monitor details – The make, model, and native resolution of the external monitor you are using.
  3. System information – Since the apps crash in clamshell mode, please try launching the app with the lid open (as you mentioned this works without issues). Then go to ? > About > Write System Information and share the generated file sminfo.txt with us.
Post it here or send it privately to forum[at]softmaker.com.
  4. Crash log – macOS saves a kernel panic log when a reboot occurs. You can find it at: Apple menu > System Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data. Look for a file named panic-.ips with a recent timestamp and share it with us.
  5. Timing – Does the crash happen immediately when the app opens, or only after some interaction?
Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused.
