The morph transition is not natively available in many presentation apps like PowerPoint or Google Slides, but in apps like Microsoft PowerPoint, it can be implemented as a "Morph" transition feature that animates objects smoothly from one slide to another. Check if your app has a similar feature or use creative animations to mimic this effect!

I find this feature very interesting and useful. However, it is not available in NX 2026.

You have already said that.

Văn Phước Nguyễn, mate, what were you using morph for in the first place... was it for slide transitions in a particular presentation? im just curious how you got on with it in older versions, or was it PowerPoint you were doing it in? cheers.

I don’t use PowerPoint, Word or Excel. The only programme I use is Softmaker. I’ve seen lots of YouTube channels showing how to use the Morph effect in PowerPoint. It looks really interesting and I’d like to try it out in Presentation. But Presentation doesn’t have that effect

I don’t want to see a programme I’ve grown to love and have been using for the past few months being overshadowed by PowerPoint. That’s why I’ve suggested this effect.

If Presentation had the Morph effect, it would become a perfect alternative.

I don’t use any other software because Softmaker’s programmes are excellent and free from unnecessary features such as (Power Query; speech-to-text; icons; 3D models; online video; signature lines). I use only Softmaker and save my files in Softmaker’s file format

But I’ve also written a review of Softmaker. It includes a comment about the truth regarding Microsoft Office

Văn Phước Nguyễn, fair enough, i like that Softmaker leaves out all the extra bits too... i knock together the slides for our pub quiz in Presentation and it does the job reet well. In my experience you can fake a bit of a morph by duplicating the slide and animating the shape to its new spot, but its fiddly, so a proper Morph button would save alot of faff.

So you hate Microsoft Office, don’t you? And which version of Softmaker are you currently using?

To get the most out of Softmaker and enjoy greater flexibility, it is best to save files in the Softmaker file format. If you work for a company, it is best to encourage the whole organisation to switch to Softmaker and save files in the Softmaker format. That way, when you open the files, there will be no errors and sharing will be seamless.

Văn Phước Nguyễn, i dont hate Office mate, i used it for years at work and its fine... just dont need it at home now. I've always saved my quiz slides as pptx and taken them to the pub on a USB stick, and the landlord's laptop has opened them fine alot of the time, only once did a font go a bit wonky. Im on the latest NX one, by the way 🙂

Văn Phước Nguyễn, mate, you've said a fair bit about getting a whole company onto the Softmaker format... but how did you actually find it when you shared files with people who still use Office? did they open ok for them, or did you hit any wonky bits? 🙂

Văn Phước Nguyễn, to be fair you're right about the native format, mate... in my experience files I keep in Softmaker's own format never give me any bother between the laptop in the garage and the one indoors. its only when i export to pptx for the pub that a font goes a bit wonky now and then, so i always open the quiz on the landlord's laptop before the first round. a whole company switching is a big ask though, i cant even get the allotment society to agree on a date for the summer show.

Văn Phước Nguyễn, im not so sure about the whole company bit, mate... in my experience most folk just want a file they can double-click, so id keep the native format for my own stuff and send pptx or docx to everyone else. Teh "everyone switch" idea is definately tidy on paper, but ive seen how people react when you change their tea brand, let alone their software 🙂

Never mind. Let’s leave the company aside for now.

Many people these days, when switching to alternatives to Microsoft Office, have a habit of saving documents in Microsoft formats. As a result, some documents may become corrupted. I’m not entirely sure about that, but I find that saving files in Softmaker format is the best way to prevent document corruption.

I’m someone who hates Microsoft Office and use Softmaker exclusively. To me, Softmaker is the best software on the planet. All my documents are stored in the Softmaker format and everything remains intact.

I’ve broken free from the Microsoft Office ecosystem and am currently using Softmaker alongside its file format. To me, the Softmaker file format is known as: ‘Free Document Format’

I rate Softmaker very highly. The software is brilliant, and I’d give it 10,000,000 points. It’s brilliant to be using Softmaker

But what about you? Do you use Softmaker regularly? And what format do you save your files in?
