How to duplicate vertical textboxes

Post by laffin_boy »

(I'm using TM 24 with the Classic interface)

I have successfully created a single textbox in my document with vertical text but I need a whole row of these boxes across the bottom of my doc. But when I copy the box itself (not the contents) it pastes itself (a) out of vertical alignment with the original box and (b) the text contents of the pasted box are horizontal.

What's the secret?

Instead of Copy & Paste, use the „Duplicate“ command (Ctrl+D). This keeps the text alignment.

To get a neat row of boxes at the bottom of the document, duplicate the box as often as needed. Drag the last duplicate to the correct horizontal and vertical position. Then choose object mode, select all boxes (Ctrl+A) and apply first Align or distribute > Align bottom, and then Align or distribute > Distribute horizontally. You may reach the "Align or distribute" command either via the Object menu or via the context menu (right click).

@SoftMaker: The text alignment bug with copy & paste is still present in TextMaker NX. It appears when you copy and paste a text box with rotated text in edit mode. In object mode, it's all right.
