Amazon Fire tablets?

What Amazon calls FireOS is a derivative of the Android operating system (which, in turn, is derived from Linux). FireOS does not include the Google Playstore -- it includes Amazon's own app store.

Does SoftMaker NX for Android run on Amazon Fire Tablets? If so, how difficult is it to install? I assume it has to be sideloaded in some manner.

SoftMaker Office apps for Android are distributed through the Google Play Store. As Amazon Fire OS does not include the Google Play Store, it is not currently a supported operating system.

I know the Fire tablets don't include the Google Playstore. That's why in my post I commented that I assume SoftMaker Office NX would have to be sideloaded. I understand that if this is done it won't be supported. I would like to know if it can be done.

We do not provide standalone APK installation files, so there is no supported method for sideloading SoftMaker Office onto a Fire tablet.

So either you don't know if it can be done, or you do know it can be done but you don't want to admit it.

Got it. Why didn't you just say that?

For what it's worth, research outside of this forum suggests that it can be done, and that it has been done (successfully).
