Markdown paragraphs

I do enough early drafts in markdown that I was not quite thrilled but definitely pleased to see that markdown-formatted text can be imported to Textmaker.
The various levels of subheads came over fine but the paragraphing did not.
The document I chose was 1,200 words in text format. I pasted it into a markdown editor (Typora), formatted the subheads with the right number of hashes, and made sure the paragraphs ended with two spaces after the last period and a return. I pasted the markdown version into a Textmaker document. I repeated the test with a different document of 411 words, this time using "insert document" instead of copy and paste.
In both cases the subheads came over correctly. The sections between subheads came over as one long paragraph each instead of multiple paragraphs.

TextMaker 2024 neither has a Markdown import filter nor does it accept Markdown via the clipboard. It is likely that the program you copied from placed the data in RTF or HTML format on the clipboard.

TextMaker 2026 opens and saves Markdown files directly.
