Softmaker Office 2026: textmaker is not installed.

When Softmaker Office 2026 is clicked and installed on mac, Planmaker2026 and Presentations2026 are installed as expected. Textmaker2026 is not. Tahoe 26.5.2

Softmaker 2024 works normally.

Thank you for reporting this issue. It occurs when SoftMaker Office 2026 is installed over an existing installation of SoftMaker Office 2024.

As a workaround, please uninstall SoftMaker Office 2024 before installing SoftMaker Office 2026. This should resolve the issue.

Due to this error, TextMaker 2024 is currently being replaced by TextMaker 2026 during the upgrade process. I have forwarded the details to the relevant team so they can investigate further and take appropriate action.

Same happened to me but I just used default installation location which turns out to be a new 2026 folder in addition to a 2024 folder in Applications and doesn't overwrite the 2024 installation so now I have both 2024 and 2026 Presentations and PlanMaker but only 2024 TextMaker.

If I overwrite the 2024 installation will it keep by settings from 2024 such as some default formats and file locations that are pinned?

I received the email with instructions to fix TextMaker not being installed. The email said to delete 2024 and 2026 prior installation and settings would not be affected. However, after deleting 2024 and 2026 and then reinstalled 2026 my prior pinned files were not saved and I had to change the default file formats.

Is there a way to import at least the pinned files and file history into 2026 even though 2024 and 2026 have been deleted?

You can try to transfer the previous settings by reinstalling SoftMaker Office 2024 temporarily. It can be installed alongside SoftMaker Office 2026, so you do not need to remove 2026 again.

1. Install SoftMaker Office 2024 and start TextMaker 2024.
2. Check whether the previous pinned and recently used files are displayed. If they are not present in TextMaker 2024, the old settings were removed and cannot be exported.
3. Choose File | Options and click Manage at the bottom left.
4. In the Manage settings for Office dialog, select at least Configuration files. You may select the other categories if you also want to transfer dictionaries, keyboard shortcuts and other custom settings.
5. Click Export and save the resulting ZIP file in a safe location.
6. Close TextMaker 2024 and start TextMaker 2026.
7. Choose File | Options | Manage, select the corresponding categories and click Import.
8. Select the exported ZIP file, complete the import and restart TextMaker 2026.

The configuration import should also restore transferable preferences such as the default file formats. If you want to retain the standard 2026 ribbon layout and its newly added commands, leave Customized ribbon/toolbars unselected.
