[Bug?] "Asian language support" option is always reset to OFF after restarting PlanMaker

Post by usubon »

Hi SoftMaker team,

I found a critical bug regarding east-Asian font rendering in PlanMaker 2024 (and possibly the 2026 beta).

[Symptom]
When I go to Options > General and check "アジア言語のフォントの拡張サポート" (Extended support for Asian fonts), then click OK and restart PlanMaker, the checkbox is automatically unchecked (reset to OFF) every time.

[Technical Detail]
I checked my config file pmfo24config.ini and confirmed that it correctly says AsianFonts=1 after clicking OK.
However, when PlanMaker boots up, the application seems to overwrite or ignore this internal value and forces it back to 0 (OFF) on the user interface.

Because of this bug, Japanese characters in CSV files are forcibly rendered in "Arial", causing severe character corruption (garbled text / Chinese font fallback) upon import.

Running the app as an administrator did not resolve the issue. It happens consistently on Windows 11.

Could you please investigate why the AsianFonts=1 flag is being volatile/wiped out during the boot process? It would be a huge help for all Asian users.

Thank you!

Thank you for the detailed report, including the configuration file check — that is genuinely useful.

I can reproduce this issue and have forwarded the details further.

Hi SuperTech,

Thank you for reproducing the issue and forwarding it to the development team! I’m glad the report was helpful.

While you are looking into the Asian language settings, I would like to make one additional feature request regarding date formats for Japanese users.

In Japanese business documents, it is standard practice to display dates with the Japanese Kanji characters for year (年), month (月), and day (日) — for example, "2026年8月7日" (YYYY年M月D日).

Currently, PlanMaker struggles to display or recognize this specific format properly unless manual workarounds are used. Supporting this native Kanji date format (and ideally Japanese Era names like Reiwa, though standard Kanji dates are the top priority!) would make PlanMaker so much more powerful for users in Japan.

Thanks again for your great support!
