One of the things I really REALLY like about SoftMaker Office is the option to use a ribbon menu or a "classic" menu. To me, the ribbon menu system (whether it's in SoftMaker Office or Microsoft Office) makes no sense at all. I can't work with it. I had to run Microsoft Word with an aftermarket, freeware utility that adds the classic menus to Word. Naturally, whenever I install SoftMaker Office on a computer the first thing I do is to set it to use the classic menu user interface.
Problem: The current user manuals only explain how to do things using the ribbon interface. Somewhere along the way I was able to download user manuals for TextMaker, PlanMaker, and Presentations for a pre-ribbon version. (I thought it was for 2018, but the cover says Copyright 1987-2013, so maybe it's for SM Office 2013. (??) This is adequate for many basic functions, but each new version of the software adds features. Can you create user manuals for those of us who prefer to use the classic menu interface?
Thank you.

Thank you for your post, but we already have Ribbon commands and corresponding menu commands in the appendix of our user manual. You can use this for reference whenever required.

Re: Documentation request
Even if maintaining separate manuals isn't practical, a section showing the equivalent classic menu path for each ribbon command would make the documentation much more useful for long time users.
Re: Documentation request
I have looked at that, and in all honesty I do not find it very helpful My solution has been that I somehow found on the Internet and downloaded a copy of the user manuals for the last version of SoftMaker office before the ribbon interface. These don't cover the newest features, but they cover everything I have needed help with so far.SuperTech wrote: Mon Jun 15, 2026 9:51 pm Thank you for your post, but we already have Ribbon commands and corresponding menu commands in the appendix of our user manual. Since these old manuals exist, I really think you should update them and make them available to those of us who use the classic interface. I don't know what percentage of your user base prefers the classic interface (I don't know if you know), but it is rather unfriendly that we are treated as second-class citizens by being deprived of an actual user manual.
