Our development team has implemented improvements for the next Beta update.

Behaviour has improved, but the problem still remains. Now the comments pane can fit about 32 comments per page. But if fore some reason you have more than that, we go back to the same initial problem. Sure... it may not be common, but there are cases, maybe quite rare) when this happens and you may require more comments than that, like in research papers.

The next beta will ultra-compress, if needed, to one row per comment.

I don't know if given the fact of the new features added to comments, in witch comments can be marked as solved and can be answered too this would be the best approach, but I'll wait for the next beta and see if your solution is better than it seems to be.

The changes in beta10 seems to fix the problem, so far.
