Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+V

Post by JLDP »

I have just downloaded and installed the fourth Beta. It appears that "Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+V" to copy and paste unformatted text is still not working - a pity, as this is something I would find very useful.

Otherwise the TextMaker Beta seems to work well, with some minor improvements over TM 2024 - colour palettes, print preview. Since I don't use the ribbon (one major reason for using SoftMaker Office is that it still provides a menu option) and have no intention of using AI, I may be missing some of the new features, but I'm not sure there's anything which would be a compelling reason for upgrading from SoftMaker Office 2024...

Some shortcuts have been re-assigned, because it was integrated the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+V for inserting unformatted text, as it is used in many other applications too.

Thus the functions for copy/paste had to be moved to other key combinations.

Transfer format (step copy)
Previously: Ctrl+Shift+C
New: Ctrl+Alt+C, as in MS Word

Transfer format (step paste)
Previously: Ctrl+Shift+V
New: Ctrl+Alt+V, as in MS Word

Therefore, also the command "Paste special" had to be moved to another key combination:
Previously: Ctrl+Alt+V
New: Shift+Alt+V

If the new shortcuts are not working, you maybe have to rename your SoftMaker "Settings" folder.

Another note: You can always check and reassign (+ new assign) the shortcuts in the "Customize ribbon" dialog box (see screenshot). This dialog box can be opened by a double-click on a free space in the ribbon.
