Pages added to my document

I prepared a book proposal and inserted page breaks so new topics would automatically go to the next page. I manually added page numbers centered at the bottom of each page since I was having trouble doing it through footers. I saved the file and all was fine. I closed out of it. When I reopened it to check and make sure all was still fine, pages were added and some of the text that had started an inch down (set manally) on pages here and there was now at the very top of the page. When I put it in the mode used for seeing everything (by pressing the paragraph symbol), the added blank pages didn't show up. And every time I manually fix what was wrong with the text (I wasn't sure how or where to set it automatically that text would drop down one space) it isn't getting saved. I sent it to someone else and the text appeared where it should, at the top of each page, but what wasn't showing up on my end - blank pages - was showing up on her laptop.

Can someone explain how to fix these things? Also, if I don't succeed, is there a way to copy and paste it into Word and format it there?

Any help would be appreciated.

Would you mind posting the document? Not an image of it -- the actual file, so we can see what's going on inside it.

That's not a good way to do it. Inserting page numbers into headers and footers is not difficult -- you really should learn how to do it.

Activating reveal codes (clicking the paragraph icon in the menu) does not affect whether or not blank pages show up. How did you generate blank pages?

Sure. Highlight the entire document, press CTRL+C to copy it, open a blank document in Word, and press CTRL+V to paste.
