Application icons KDE Wayland
Installation on Slackware Current went fine; installed in KDE Plasma 6.4.5 Wayland. The application icons are not copied correctly to the menu. This was already an issue with Softmaker Office 2024. At the time I selected the FreeOffice icons to have some visual feedback. See attached screenshot
Re: Application icons KDE Wayland
These icons come from SoftMaker Office 2018 and are not included in the beta. It seems your Linux somehow "found" them somewhere.
To ensure the best compatibility and stability, we currently recommend using the X11 session instead of Wayland.

Re: Application icons KDE Wayland
Obviously, since I added them myself. I won't run KDE X11 anymore, we are not in 2018. Strange anyway since the FreeOffice icons work under Wayland. So, something has changed in the making' of the icons.
Re: Application icons KDE Wayland
This is an amusing response indeed. On one hand using a distribution that still uses an ncurses installer, SysV init, and a package manager t hat does nto resolve dependencies. On the other advocating wayland... Eitherway... what SuperTech says, while probably true, on this case, does not apply. Your issue is due one of this reasons:
1. You have an old copy of the SMO icons on ~/.local/share/icons that overrides the current ones. (Or ~/.icons)
2. You have custom .desktop files for SMO on ~/.local/applications/ (can happen if you have been using kmenuedit)
3. Your mime type stuff is messed up. (Granted, the SMO installer/Updater/Uninstaller can leave a mess here, sometimes. Using the remove_icons script provided on the SMO install folder usually fixes this, if not removing SMO and installing again can solve the issue. Have worked for me on the past.)
4. Your system is not cleaning icon cache and keeps loading old stuff (unlikely, but who knows. Can happen.)
Is also important tonotice that icons are never "copied" to the menu. That's not how things work.
