I currently have FlexiPDF Pro 2022. In working with a sizeable PDF document I received in parts and have been assembling into a single file and setting up bookmarks for navigation, I have encountered some serious limitations. Can someone tell me if these issues have been fixed in FlexiPDF 2025?
1. The document has nested levels of bookmarks. When the document opens, the bookmark side panel opens with each major (top level) bookmark displayed, and those that have sub-levels show a square with a '+' to the left. In Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, Lightning PDF, and Bluebeam I can open the sub-levels listing with a single click on the '+'. In FlexiPDF this requires a double click. That's a waste of a click, and it's not the way any other PDF reader or editor works. Does FlexiPDF 2025 open and close the nested bookmarks listing with a single click? If not, please put this on the list of needed improvements for the next version.
2. Some of the bookmarks in the file are wrong -- they don't go to the page the bookmark labels say they belong to. I can edit the bookmark destinations directly in Adobe Acrobat and in PDF Lightning. I can't edit them in FlexiPDF 2022. Does FlexiPDF 2025 allow direct editing of bookmark destinations? If not, please add this to the list of needed functions.
3. The original file was created (I believe) using Adobe Acrobat. The major (top level) bookmark labels are formatted in a blue color and bold-face for emphasis. Adobe Reader respects this and displays the color and the bold face. So do Foxit and Bluebeam. FlexiPDF 2022 does not display the bookmark labels in color or in bold-face. It should respect the way the document was created and intended to display. Does FlexiPDF do this? If not, please add this to the list of desirable features.

Re: Features questions
Getting deeper into setting up the document I was working on. I found that the bookmark page associations were often incorrect and zoom levels were often inconsistent. Adobe Acrobat allowed me to right-click each bookmark to access and edit the properties, including the text color of the bookmark text; the text attributes (regular, bold, italic, or bold italic) and color; the page number in the document, and the view magnification for the bookmark (view page, view page actual size, view page width, visible ).
FlexiPDF needs this kind of functionality.

I'm coming back to reiterate and expand on this feature request.Woody44 wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 11:42 pm Getting deeper into setting up the document I was working on. For my work, I regularly deal with PDF copies of code books that may be 200 or more pages each. They are have bookmarks pre-set. For most of them, each bookmark takes me to a view of the full page. Two of the books, however, were created such that the bookmarks take me to a page width view, which is larger than I want or need and which only shows me about half of the page. In order to facilitate working with these books, I would like to be able to edit the properties of each bookmark to change the magnification from Page Width to Full Page.
In Adobe Acrobat (version 9, which is now quite old), I can resize each page to a Full page view with a single click, then right-click on the bookmark, choose "Set Destination," confirm, and the bookmark is changed to always take me to the full page view.
There is no comparable functionality in FlexiPDF (at least, not in FlexiPDF 2022). Not only is there no bookmark edit function available by right-clicking each bookmark, I can't find ANY way to edit existing bookmark properties. The only way I can find to change the view for bookmarks is to manually delete the bookmark, set the page to the desired magnification, and then create a new bookmark.
That's incredibly tedious compared with how easy it is even in a very old version of Acrobat. FlexiPDF really needs to improve its functionality if SoftMaker hopes for FlexiPDF to be a serious contender in the PDF editor marketplace.
I have attached a video clip showing the procedure in Adobe Acrobat 9.

Re: Features questions
Another feature I have found lacking in FlexiPDF Pro 2022, and I'd like to know if it is offered in FlexiPDF 2025:
I frequently work with PDF files that are supposed to be in the PDF/A (restricted) type. When I open such files in Abode Acrobat or Adobe reader, Adobe displays a colored bar across the top of the screen informing me that the document is in PDF/A format. Bluebeam and Foxit Reader provide a way to verify whether or not documents are in PDF/A format. FlexiPDF 2022 does not appear to provide any way to verify PDF/A status.
Is this capability present in FlexiPDF 2025? If not, please add it to the list of features to be added for the next version. This capability should be added both the FlexiPDF (the editor) and to FreePDF (the reader), because anyone opening a PDF file should know whether or not the file is in PDF/A status. Ideally, the notification should be in the form of a colored band across the top of the screen with a prominent statement that the document is in PDF/A format -- as it done in Adobe Reader and Acrobat.
Thank you.

Re: Features questions
In FlexiPDF, you can expand or collapse bookmarks by either:
- Single-clicking the +/- icon, or
- Double-clicking the bookmark text
Thank you for your input—we always appreciate ideas that help improve our products!
Re: Features questions
As a follow-up, here's what the PDF/A notification looks like in Adobe Reader 11:
I consider this to be better than in Bluebeam and Foxit, in both of which you have to click through some menu choices to see whether or not the file has PDF/A (or digital signature) status. This is instant and automatic.
