Re: Textmaker will not launch

Always a nuisance when you've upgraded libraries and a program expects an older version. A dirty workaround I often use, which might work in your case (no guarantees, though) is creating a symlink: ln -s /usr/lib/libidn.so.12.6.0 /usr/lib/libidn.so.11 This ought to be addressed in a future upgrade. ...

I have no experience of OpenSuse, but could this be what you need?

Re: Problem with Brazilian Portuguese characters

For various reasons I prefer to have en_US as system language and a Swedish keyboard. This doesn't affect the use of accents in any other program, only Softmaker. As previously mentioned, I have solved the accent issue by adding the line export LANG=sv_SE.utf8 to the start script. This, however, lea...

Re: can't save file with ä or ö in filename

Yes, with system language en_US and starting Textmaker with textmaker18 and nothing else, I have no problems with using ä or ö in filenames. But (as I mentioned in post #3 in this thread) this issue is linked to the one discussed in another thread: http://forum.softmaker.com/viewtopic.php?f=305&...

Re: can't save file with ä or ö in filename

Setting system locale to LANG=sv_SE.utf8 doesn't solve this issue. And for various reasons I prefer English as system language. So I have to choose one of two options: 1) Running en_US as system locale and writing in Swedish on Swedish keyboard - then I can use å,ä,ö in filenames but accents won't d...

Re: can't save file with ä or ö in filename

I'm sorry having to report that after upgrading to latest buld 933, the problem still persist. As mentioned here: http://forum.softmaker.com/viewtopic.php?f=305&t=17751 I can't get accents to work properly without adding the line export LANG=sv_SE.utf8 to the start script, and with that addition...

I'm sorry having to report that after upgrading to latest buld 933, the problem still persist and I have to add the line export LANG=sv_SE.utf8 to the start script in order to get accents to work properly. This also means that I can't save files where the filename contains the letters å, ä, ö (see t...

suggestion: auto replace hyphen > en-dash

I frequently - maybe too frequently - use dashes when writing. For years I've missed the automatic replacement that's part of MSWord, LO, and OO when using Textmaker. The Smart text function offers a workaround, but with a small snag: When writing e.g. "Mon- and Tuesdays", the hyphen after...

can't save file with ä or ö in filename

Makes me remember the good(?) old days of MS-DOS 3.3 :)
A minor issue, but it would be great if that could be fixed some time in the future

Re: Problem with Brazilian Portuguese characters

Holy mackerel, it works! Thanks, martin-k, I just wish that someone had told me this earlier! I get a warning which I guess can be disregarded: (process:28031): Gtk-WARNING **: 19:47:57.949: Locale not supported by C library. Using the fallback 'C' locale. I've added the line to the /usr/bin/textmak...
