Re: email client

I've yet to find a wholly satisfactory email client. I generally use emClient, because it does everything Outlook can as well as the things Outlook won't do (unified inbox, proper Google calendar sync). But its UI feels a little tired. Mailbird has useful integration with a whole load of web-based a...

Re: Support for Onedrive

Lack of OneDrive support was initially a showstopper for me. It was one reason why I continued to use Word from time to time, because the sync with my phone was impressive. But having yet again lost a significant document because of a power outage (and Word is completely unreliable offlline) I have ...

Windows 11 new design

I've been trying out Windows 11 on one of my laptops. Overall it's quite a lot slicker, though there are some backwards steps. It's clearly nowhere near finished so I really wouldn't recommend it on any primary machine yet. A curious thing, which your developers may or may not be aware of - Windows ...

Re: Support for Onedrive

Yes I'd like to second that request. I'd love to use Textmaker on my phone rather than Office, but it's not really going to be viable until there's support for OneDrive (where I keep all my work in progress).

Re: Solution expanded -- How to open, edit & save files stored in the Cloud, while working with Softmaker

As a further note, reluctantly I've installed Google Drive alongside OneDrive, and Textmaker files saved there do seem to update between machines as you'd expect. So it looks like a problem specific to OneDrive, though I don't know if Softmaker can do anything about it from its end. It would be grea...

Re: OneDrive

I'd second this. I don't want Google Drive or Dropbox on my Windows desktop, and save all working docs into OneDrive. That means Textmaker on Android is almost useless - especially when the integration between Word across Windows and Android is so slick.

Re: Solution expanded -- How to open, edit & save files stored in the Cloud, while working with Softmaker

I have been doing this (using OneDrive) for years. It's a critical function, because I will often be writing away from my desktop on my Surface Go, and I'd rather use OneDrive because it's tightly integrated with Windows. But lately I've had some frustration. Clearly it's necessary when you stop wor...

Re: What really advantajes offer softmaker over ms office

I use both, intially because I needed to be absolutely sure that clients could read my docx files faithfully, though these days the compatibility seems to be so good it might be unnecessary. I disagree about the value points above - the personal edition of MS Office costs £59 per year in the UK. For...

Another UI quirk

A small but mildly irritating thing which I think would be easy to correct (it was happening in the beta in the main ribbon drop downs and you've already put it right there). If I add a paragraph style button to the Quick Access toolbar (ribbon interface, dark theme) the background to the dropdown i...

Re: Dropdown lists

Thanks Robin! In the ribbon version this is in the Review tab, where I'd never have thought to look for it (and the help files don't cover the ribbon at the moment). Perhaps this is something for the developers to think about. To me logically it belongs in the Data tab where there are already comman...

Dropdown lists

I need to create a dropdown list in a cell using data from another sheet in the workbook (it's a product list). I want to click on an item in that dropdown and have it inserted directly in the same cell, so that queries can find it. I can do this in Excel and LibreOffice Calc by using the Data Valid...

File save problem

I pointed this out in the beta and it's not been fixed. It was apparent in the beta phase that others were having the same problem so please tell me it's being looked at, because it's regularly irritating. When you leave an SMO file (I've seen the problem in Textmaker and Planmaker) open for a while...

Working offline

I've said something about this before, but having just lost another chunk of text I want to say it again. It may well be a problem with Dropbox on Android rather than SMO but I've found saving directly to Dropbox very unreliable. This evening I tried to export a file to PDF which I had saved repeate...

Re: Irritating press coverage

Hah! I see Matthew Miller of ZD Net took the hint and has now published a glowing review of the Android HD suite - http://www.zdnet.com/pictures/softmaker-office-hd-for-android-hands-on-desktop-level-functionality-in-the-palm-of-your-hands/ Hope it brings you the recognition you deserve. Best wishes...

Irritating press coverage

ZD Net currently has a feature asking whether MS Office is the best productivity suite for Android. http://www.zdnet.com/pictures/does-microsoft-offer-the-best-android-office-suite-android-office-app-showdown/ It doesn't even consider Softmaker ... I've put this right in the comments, but it is irri...
