Is it possible to drag and drop images into a text file?
Using Debian Stretch (64 bits) Linux

This works in Windows but not in Linux for me. Please use Insert=>Picture from the Ribbon menu to insert images.

If you want to place an image into text, you have to set the "text wrapping" option on the image, once inserted. You have to choose the picture tab, then convert and then choose the text wrapping you want to use. Please try :)
