I haven't tried NVU so far, but they claim it's basically Mozilla Composer plus site management. What don't you like about NVU? User interface? Missing features? (which ones?) Support?

No secrets... we develop code with our own toolkit, and this toolkit calls low-level functions in the respective operating system. We just need very basic function calls (paint a pixel here, a rect there, wait on mouse input etc.). But if you develop apps from scratch, you don't want that ultra-low ...

Yes, TextMaker and PlanMaker use pure Xlib calls. If you don't have a very good reason (cross-platform portability), DON'T go that route. It's immensely more work than using Qt or GTK or any other pre-made toolkit.

Have a look at KDevelop, read quite a few people are raving about it.

Re: Corel Draw substitute

I know this is extremely challenging. But there is no real / good SVG editor for Linux. And Corel Draw keeps coming with more unstable versions supporting less and less platforms (they pulled out of Windows 98 / ME / NT and Mac OS) Because softmaker's application are all pretty cute shiny lightweig...

I just posted this question at another thread, but maybe here it is more Appropriate: What about PlanMaker for Zaurus? At the moment there is no good working sheet software for the Sharp Zaurus on the market. We haven't decided yet whether to publish PlanMaker for Zaurus. The decision depends on th...

Will we be able to redistribute forms and applications to others if we develop forms and applications with DataMaker (2004)? I mean as a runtime engine as in the case of Access and Paradox. Or do we have to pay royalty for each launcher. Will DataMaker (2004) support Linux and PostGreSQL? Currently...

DataMaker will work with any reasonably complete ODBC driver. If you have MyODBC, this combo should indeed work.

At first we need to see how well the Zaurus version works. If everything is fine we will try to do a Palm version, too, but it is not for sure that a Palm version will be released at all. :| Correction: We are still working on the Palm version, but right now our top priority is the AMD Personal Int...

If you have TextMaker and PlanMaker, you have all the current pieces of SoftMaker Office 2004. As soon as there are newer versions of SoftMaker Office, there always will be the same upgrade pricing and procedure, regardless of whether you bought TextMaker and PlanMaker independently or as a part of ...
