Re: How to choose between 32-bit and 64-bit versions

Thanks very much, Martin. Following your advice, I will uninstall the 2016 version and then install the 64-bit 2018.

How to choose between 32-bit and 64-bit versions

I have finally paid to upgrade my Softmaker Office 2016 to 2018 on my Windows 7 Pro desktop computer. However, I haven't yet installed 2018. I have two questions: 1) Should I first uninstall Softmaker Office 2016 to avoid any confusion? 2) I'm not sure whether to install the 32-bit version or the 64...

Re: Simple formula returns #VALUE! - Huh?

Hi Martin. I've spent a little more time on this, and here is the underlying issue. My account information from the bank was exported as a csv file and then inserted into the spreadsheet. Negative dollar values appear, for example, as ($10.75), left justified. Apparently this is interpreted as text ...

Re: Simple formula returns #VALUE! - Huh?

Thanks very much, Martin, for your prompt response. Unfortunately, the file contains extensive confidential financial information, and I would prefer not to send it. Is there anything you can suggest without my sending it?

Simple formula returns #VALUE! - Huh?

I am a novice user of PlanMaker. I have a spreadsheet that was created in Excel. It includes a simple formula whereby the amount in cell E42 is given by the amount in cell E43 plus amount in cell C42 and keeps going to lower numbers in the chain ending at E5. I added rows to the spreadsheet using Pl...

Re: Problem reading PM .xlsx files in Excel

Thanks very much, Martin, for your prompt response. I checked, and the sheet tabs option was checked in both the xls file and the xlsx file. I'll send them both to the address you provided.

Problem reading PM .xlsx files in Excel

My husband uses Excel in MS Office Professional Plus 2010 on Windows 7. For the past few days, he has had problems reading some multi-page xls files: the page tabs at the bottom are missing and only one page shows. He has no problem, however, reading multi-page files made in Excel as xlsx. He tried ...

Re: Set which browser opens links in TextMaker

Thanks, Sven, for your reply. Before I read your message, I tried to set the default browser in Windows to Pale Moon, but that did no good. Then, following your suggestion, I tried setting Opera as my default browser. But even after setting it to be the default, when I clicked on a link in the docx ...

Set which browser opens links in TextMaker

I'm using TextMaker 2016 for Windows (rev. 757.0510) on Windows 7 Prof. 64-bit. Today someone sent me an email message with a docx attachment that contained a number of links. I downloaded the attachment and opened it in TextMaker (though my guess is that it was written in MS Word). When I clicked o...

Re: Want to modify Normal.tmv but can't

Thanks, Alfred, for the correct URL. I've now read through the thread (again :) ). Clearly, the success I thought I had then didn't last, though I have no idea why it didn't. I was also interested to see that again today I ran into TextMaker's wanting to save my new template in my comp_info director...

Re: Want to modify Normal.tmv but can't

Jossi, just a quick note to say that I followed the combined instructions from ecbritz and you, as found in the first link you provided, and I've successfully created a new default template. MANY THANKS to both you and ecbritz! =D>

Re: Want to modify Normal.tmv but can't

Thanks VERY much, Jossi, for your very helpful response. The instructions in that thread look as if they'll be just what I need. (By the way, when I clicked on the second link that you provided, I got a message saying "You are not authorised to read this forum." I checked to be sure I was logged in,...

Re: Want to modify Normal.tmv but can't

Thanks very much, sj2001, for your response. You're right--I was trying to change the font size from the combo box on the toolbar. After reading your message, I tried again, this time making the changes under Format/Paragraph and Format/Character. But when I tried to save this as Normal.tmv, I was t...

Re: Want to modify Normal.tmv but can't

Thanks, Alfred, for your response. I've been very careful about the extension that is being used when I save, and it's been .tmv. What I've been doing is simply clicking on the Normal.tmv file listed in one of the two directories I mentioned in my first message. It opens as a blank document in TextM...

Want to modify Normal.tmv but can't

I am using Textmaker 2016 (rev. 749.1202). I am very eager to make two small changes in the Normal.tmv template. One is to increase the font size from 10 to 11, and the other is to get rid of the Automatic Hyphenation. I made those changes to the Normal.tmv file in both C:\Users\[Username]\Documents...
