I realise this is 2 years old but posting a reply in case anyone else lands here with a similar query (as I did).

Resolved as follows:
Highlight area to be sorted;
Go to 'Data' tab;
Click 'Sort' button ('Sort' window appears);
Select column to be sorted on (and whether ascending or descending ...
