This took me a really long time to respond, but we are no longer changing the FreeOffice downloads for specific URLs. We can do this since we no longer send out e-mails with download URLs.
I only read this just now. That's great news! Thanks a lot, this makes things much easier for us.

Re: FreeOffice 970 tarball hash change

Sorry for asking again, but is there any progress on this issue? If not, I fear that I will have to do a PR soon to remove SoftMaker Office and FreeOffice from nixpkgs/NixOS. This package breaks every time a new Office version is released and due how to Nix/NixOS work (the whole system configuration...

Re: FreeOffice 970 tarball hash change

Thanks! Any updates?

(We bumped into this problem again due to the recent updates of FreeOffice and Softmaker Office to 976.)

Re: FreeOffice 970 tarball hash change

Could you host the TGZ packages yourselves? Then you are in control which version is delivered under which URL. Sorry for reporting back so late! I raised the issue in the NixOS forums. Although Nix has an archive for tarballs, it is only used for hosting (open) source tarballs. Two other possible ...

Re: Cannot unlock using purchased license key

In the meanwhile, this workaround does the job:

https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/71460

(Use LD_PRELOAD to intercept execve calls and rewrite /bin/ls to the actual path on the NixOS machine.)

Re: Cannot unlock using purchased license key

SoftMaker Office places the license file in /etc/SoftMaker. Ensure that your application has access to this folder and can write to it. No dice. I have created that directory and made my user the owner ( sudo chown daniel:users /etc/SoftMaker ). TextMaker creates /etc/SoftMaker/hunspell . But the e...

Cannot unlock using purchased license key

I am using SoftMaker Office on NixOS (20.03). When I try to unlock using the license key, I get the following error: The application cannot create a unique identifier. Please make sure the application has sufficient permissions. I also get the same error when trying to unlock FreeOffice (with my Fre...

FreeOffice 970 tarball hash change

We have packaged both FreeOffice and SoftMaker Office in nixpkgs: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/blob/master/pkgs/applications/office/softmaker/freeoffice.nix https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/blob/master/pkgs/applications/office/softmaker/softmaker_office.nix For each source, we specify a SHA chec...
