Re: Dialog box display in German
Problem solved, please download and install again: https://www.softmaker.net/down/softmaker-office-2018.pkg Belatedly... can confirm this is working correctly for me now. This self-identifies as 974.0203. Presumably that's not quite the same as the 974 "service pack" release of 7th Feb, as its list...

Re: Dialog box display in German
Ah, you beat me to it, with my own newly-installed SoftMaker Office (as opposed to FreeOffice) In my case, can confirm it also happens if you set your user interface options to English (UK) or English (United Kingdom). Yes, there are separate settings in Options->Language->Language and Options->Appe...

and typically it happened again right after posting the above, and setting my general preference back to auto switch light/dark. I'm sure they're all the same but have another .crash file

Crash when Mac switches between Light and Dark modes
TextMaker crashes when the system switches between Light and Dark mode. Reliably, and regardless of whether the switch happens manually or automatically. It happens a few seconds after the switch. Do you guys get the developer crash reports that I've been filling out that get submitted to Apple? If ...

Re: Input Lag
Yeah this may be a separate issue. For me, it works great on Linux and MacOS, with no sign of trouble even in an increasingly long document; only in Windows, and then it’s not *really* lagging, it’s just the way the redraw works (move cursor, then draw newly-typed character) gives the *feeling* of l...

Re: Input Lag
sminfo.txt file attached. Modified description: It's not laggy as such in the sense that it doesn't get left behind by my typing. It took me a while to figure it out but it was revealed in the end by taking a slow-motion phone video of the text appearing on the screen while I was typing (not fast as...

Wayland support and/or user interface sizes
It appears that FreeOffice is only using x11, and so in a wayland session it's running in xwayland. This is usually not a problem, especially as it works just fine fullscreen. (xwayland apps show themselves up by having black blocks appearing ahead of where the window's going while resizing). But it...

Re: Linux by default
I would doubt many Linux distros would make a commercial office suite the default, when LibreOffice exists as an open source alternative, unless they were really strongly selling themselves as a comfortable home-from-home for Windows/Office users. For my part using Ubuntu I'm happy with the "downloa...

Re: Input Lag
I'll answer in lieu of the original poster. I'm seeing this as well, albeit I've only tried TextMaker Free so far. There's visible typing lagginess. I don't have to wait for it, it shows up right away, on a 2 thousand-ish words document using only one font family (Georgia) in the document (a few use...

Re: Pleeeease fix the kerning!!!
I found this question amusing because I actually just discovered FreeOffice after finally despairing of LibreOffice's terrible kerning bug on HiDPI screens, and I was enjoying the timeless charms of a WYSIWIG wordprocessor where the text actually looked good again! It may or may not be perfect at sm...
