Re: PDF files from scanner are VERY large

Thanks for confirming this problem! It does seem there is something wrong with the communications between VueScan and FlexiPDF 2019. Interestingly, though, this problem seems limited to FlexiPDF: if I use Adobe Acrobat or NAPS2 with VueScan's TWAIN driver I don't seem to have a problem. I'll probabl...

Re: PDF files from scanner are VERY large

That option does reduce the size considerably, but that reduction seems to be caused by lowering the resolution to 72dpi. The resulting text is fuzzy and difficult to read, so that is not an acceptable "workaround". ALSO, for some reason the resulting PDF is inverted: the background is black and the...

PDF files from scanner are VERY large

When I use the "Import from scanner" option to create a new PDF document, the resulting image appears to be in gray scale rather than in B&W as I specified in the Twain driver. (The Twain driver is part of the VueScan program that I'm testing with a Fujitsu S500 scanner.) As a result, the PDF file i...

Re: Fit text to cell

Just checking to see if there has been any progress on adding the 'fit to cell' option to FreeOffice and/or Softmaker Office? This feature has been in Word for a long time, and it is EXTREMELY useful when text MUST be confined to a single line of a table cell.... Thanks!

Re: Font in table changing in TextMaker 2018 but not Word

I still don't know what is causing this behavior, but I have found that the situation can be "corrected" by selecting the table in TextMaker 2018 and then, under Table styles, applying the Standard style. This action immediately corrects the fonts for the entire table & all is well! - Wayne

Font in table changing in TextMaker 2018 but not Word

Folks,I've attached a small DOCX file containing the first few lines of a Word table. When viewed with Word 2007 all the entries in the table are in Calibri 12. However, looking at the same document in TextMaker - starting with the second line - all the entries are in Times New Roman 12! I can selec...

Re: Terrible display quality

I just installed the 2.0.4 update and it does NOT seem to have improved the display of scanned images. Any estimate of when, if ever, this problem is likely to be fixed? Wayne

No license code required?

I just downloaded and installed a copy of FreeOffice (Anniversary Edition) on a friend's computer. I was surprised that during the installation I was not asked for an email address, and even more surprised that after being installed the FreeOffice programs were activated without requiring me to ente...

Re: Terrible display quality

I must apologize since I can't seem to reproduce the slow page turning problem. The file that originally showed this problem was on a cloud storage service, and the slowness may have been caused by network congestion. I think this problem report can safely be canceled! Wayne

Re: Terrible display quality

I've just installed the latest Service Pack (2.0.2) for FlexiPDF 2019 and unfortunately the image quality for scanned PDF files does not seem to have improved. Therefore, FlexiPDF 2019 is STILL not very usable when there is need to deal with scanned documents. IS THERE ANY CHANCE THAT THIS PROBLEM W...

Can TextMaker edit files directly online in Google Drive?

It is now possible to directly edit files stored in Google Drive (e.g. in https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive) using a program stored on your computer. It is only necessary to right-click on the file and select "Open with...". This approach works fine when I select the Word 2007 program that I h...

Re: Terrible display quality

I'm glad I'm not the only one to comment on the poor quality of the display when viewing scanned PDF files. I really hope this problem is addressed ASAP, since as things now stand FlexiPDF 2019 is pretty much useless when it comes to handling such files. The OCR feature MAY work well, but it doesn't...

Terrible display quality

I've just installed FlexiPDF 2019 and brought up a PDF file (attached) that was generated by a Fujitsu ScanSnap document scanner. This PDF file displays fine when viewed with Adobe Acrobat 9.5, but with FlexiPDF 2019 the text is badly broken up and the lines in the table are missing big sections. I ...

Can scanned pages be straightened?

When using a high-speed document scanner the resulting pages are frequently skewed a bit. Before OCR processing - and to improve readability - it would be desirable to deskew those pages. This can be done with Adobe Acrobat, and I'm wondered if this feature has been added to FlexiPDF 2019?
