Re: Save-as-HTML bugs

Thanks for your reply. I can see that export-only status for HTML makes sense, and what happens to styles is acceptable in that role. That leaves the loss of comments as a bug - and an insidious one, in that saves alone don't reveal it - comments still work, though the filename has changed to HTML; ...

Save-as-HTML bugs

So “save as HTML” sounds great, but... • comment text is lost • styles lose their key bindings • character styles are converted to paragraph styles • floating styles (supposedly chameleon-like, blending in) are converted to Normal-derived styles (with all properties specified). To verify which, here...

Re: GoTo Bookmarks

In case this is the sort of thing you're after: you can use Sendkeys to manipulate the Textmaker UI. Here's such a script to open a document & jump to a bookmark: Shell "TextMaker.exe" Sendkeys "^o", wait Sendkeys "NameOfYourFile{Enter}" ' include extension Msgbox "click OK when document has loaded"...

Re: External way of jumping to place in document?

Since your plan is not to reference a standard manual, but to send a custom, commented version to each recipient, you can (perhaps unsurprisingly) achieve what you want using the comment function. Add your comments to the file (Tools/Comments/Insert); then invite the recipient to: view a list of com...

Re: Textmaker, WYSIWYG HTML, and device convergence

Your suggestion, then, is to avoid possible misinterpretation of files (at the level of graphical imperfections, I suppose - text content being safe), by using a format 99% of the world cannot open, and will make no attempt to interpret? I don't expect Softmaker to leap on the opportunity - but I'm ...

Textmaker, WYSIWYG HTML, and device convergence

New user here, feeling like - with Textmaker - two of my dreams have come true. Dream #1: given the maturity and power of HTML, and its familiarity, universal readability and open-standard status, I've thought for a long time that people should stop inventing new text formats, and make a word proces...

Re: RTF list malfunctions

Specimens attached. Three-line list, created with default bullets (solid, round). One file used my template (which includes nothing but three character styles which change text colour). For me, this displays with no bullets (or possibly invisible bullets) in Textmaker Android; displays with hollow r...

RTF list malfunctions

I've seen two consistent malfunctions with RTF lists. Spotted the mechanism in one case, not the other. Unsolved: bulleted list saved & reopened in Textmaker displays without bullets. (Re-opened numbered lists display properly, and bulleted lists created in Wordpad display properly.) When opened in ...

suggestion: no horizontal scrollbar in Continuous mode

Excellent product! Just wanted a way to open RTF files on phone, but this (with Bluetooth keyboard) is so capable I'll be leaving the notebook at home. Regarding my suggestion: every line counts on a phone, and the horizontal scrollbar is pointless when screen wrap is in use. edit: this is already d...
