Activation Key

Is there a way within TextMaker (or PlanMaker, or Presentations) to report the licensing key number, or to find it do I have to find my way to my account page on the SoftMaker web site?

I thought I had a file in my downloads directory with my activation key, but I just looked in that directory and ...

Re: Classic Menus and Toolbar UI Options...Color?

I second this. Those of us who prefer the classic menu interface should not be relegated to second class user status.

Re: Installation options

Thank you for the response, Martin.

The behavior is not so horrible that it was insurmountable. It's not difficult to unpin the icons from the taskbar. If encountered in a finished product, I would simply delete the icons and move on. The point isn't that this is impossible, or even that it's ...

Re: Installation options

You can run a custom install and uncheck the pinning option.

Okay. But ... this is a Beta version, which you put out there for the purpose of soliciting feedback from end users. I didn't post to request tech support on this issue. I posted to offer feedback. My feedback is that, since in most ...

Versions and Pricies

Looking at the SoftMaker web site, I see SoftMaker Office NX and I see SoftMaker Office 2024 Professional available for purchase. In prior years, I think I remember having to choose between SoftMaker Office Standard and SoftMaker Office Professional. Are there still two versions available?

Will ...

Color Picker

The color picker looks more or less like what I expect a color picker to look like, but there's a very basic omission:

The standard colors include a basic Yellow, which is essentially a pure yellow (R=255, G=255, B=0), and a basic Red, which is almost a pure red (R=192, G=0, B=0). The Red in the ...

Chapter breaks

I use my word processor to format books for print. At least in American publishing, it is standard (except for mass market and low-budget books) for new chapters to always begin on a right-hand page. At the same time, there are some items in the front matter, such as the copyright page, that should ...

Installation options

I am still using Windows 10. I do not own any computers that will run Windows 11. To make Windows 10 more user-friendly, I run an add-on (extension?) called Open Shell, which emulates the appearance of the Windows 7 task bar and Start menu. On top of that, I have manually configured a Windows 7 ...

Please disregard. I found on the download page that it says I do not have to uninstall Office 2024.

Earlier releases also seem to have followed a 3-year cycle. Another possible reason for calling this one 2027?

Documentation request

One of the things I really REALLY like about SoftMaker Office is the option to use a ribbon menu or a "classic" menu. To me, the ribbon menu system (whether it's in SoftMaker Office or Microsoft Office) makes no sense at all. I can't work with it. I had to run Microsoft Word with an aftermarket ...

Feature request

I format books for both print and for e-book (both Kindle and EPUB) using a word processor. Being able to export from TextMaker directly to EPUB is a blessing, but there's room for improvement.

I prefer to create my tables of contents for e-books manually. When using Microsoft Word, there were two ...

Re: Suggestion: Add Formatting Options When Right-Clicking Selected Text

There’s no accounting for taste. :) The mere fact that something pops up on its own bothers me. TextMaker’s context menu does essentially the same thing, but it only appears when I call it up. But when it comes to things like that, everyone has their own preferences.

Agreed. To each his/her/its ...
