Re: Cursor invisible in formula input box
But now when I scroll down in the worksheet, the cursor disappears. After scrolling, even if click again on the formula in the input box, the cursor does not show up. The cursor still seems to exist as I can type in the box just fine or move the cursor around by clicking or using the left / right ...

Re: "Printing" to PDF Questions

"Printing" to PDF Questions
I self-publish books through Amazon KDP. The preferred upload to Amazon is a PDF with fonts embedded.
I just tried to create a PDF from a third-party program (app) using the FlexiPDF virtual printer. The page size of the document is 6 inches by 9 inches (a standard book size in the U.S.). FlexiPDF ...

Re: PDF/UA
PDF/UA-1 has been around since 2012 and is the current standard in the U.S. PDF/UA-2 is what is still in development, and that is not yet a required standard in most of the U.S.Michael Uplawski wrote: Sat Oct 18, 2025 10:27 am AFAIS, PDF/UA is based on PDF 2.0 and standardization is still in progress.

Re: PDF/UA
Yeah, that is surprising. SoftMaker Office usually focuses on performance and compatibility, but missing PDF/UA support feels like a big gap, especially for accessibility. With Microsoft Office and LibreOffice already supporting it, hopefully it’s something they prioritize soon.

Will the improvements only be in SoftMaker Office NX? I have SoftMaker Office Professional -- will that also receive the additional spreadsheet functions?

Re: Inaccurate word counts
If SoftMaker knows that the discrepancy is caused by counting punctuation as words, then SoftMaker can fix it. LibreOffice Writer and Microsoft Word agree on the word count. Softaker TextMaker should NOT be off by 31 words.

Re: Quick Reference Chart gone haywire
This kind of sorting error is usually caused by not selecting all the columns involved in the data set you want to sort. In PlanMaker, simply highlighting two (or more) columns doesn't ensure that both will be sorted together. When you tell it to sort, verify in the dialogue box that both columns ...

Inaccurate word counts
I just entered a writing competition for short stories, with a strict limit of 650 words per entry. The site provides a link to a web site that they use as the official word counter for their competitions.

Thank you.
I have decided to explore using LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition). The current version is LMDE7, but I have been advised that LMDE6 is better. I guess I'll have to look at both. It's pure Debian, so there should be no problem running the .deb version of SoftMaker Office ... right?
