Added modules for SoftMaker Office?
In previous discussions, I have suggested that in order for SoftMaker Office to fully compete against either Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 or LibreOffice, SoftMaker Office needs a real, relational database, not just the mail merge address book that's built into TextMaker. It is my understanding ...

Re: TextMaker only?
Thank you, Martin. That's the answer I was looking for.martin-k wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2026 11:28 pm This is one very weird thread that could have been totally avoided by starting the setup, choosing a custom install and seeing that you can select TextMaker, PlanMaker and Presentations independently.

Suppose space is a consideration?Léon wrote: Wed Aug 26, 2026 8:09 am As long as your computer is not full, unused program parts are no problem at all.
Do you have an answer to the question, or not?

How does that in any way solve the problem of not wanting unused programs installed on a computer?Léon wrote: Tue Aug 25, 2026 9:53 pm If you only use TextMaker, just pin that one to the taskbar and leave the rest invisible.

Amazon Fire tablets?
What Amazon calls FireOS is a derivative of the Android operating system (which, in turn, is derived from Linux). FireOS does not include the Google Playstore -- it includes Amazon's own app store.

Interesting.
Using TextMaker 2024 on a Windows 10 computer, I cannot reproduce this problem.

Re: Fonts
Thank you. I now have the most-used fonts from my Windows computer on my tablets, which allows me to open and edit documents across platforms.
The built-in font manager is a great feature. I don't know why I didn't know about it before now.

Re: OUCH! Massive loss of body text format (into headers)
TextMaker does not have a pre-made style for ""Headline," but they do have a pre-set style for Header, and in the style menu 'Header" appears immediately above "Heading1." Is it possible that you wanted to click "Heading1" and you clicked "Header" by mistake?

Fonts
A question by another user led me to look more closely at the fonts available in TextMaker when I open it on Android devices. When I use TextMaker on my Windows computers, I routinely use several fonts that are not available on the Android, and there are a number of fonts on the Android device that ...

Re: A question about downloading fonts
I should add that fonts downloaded from the freefonts[dot]de site are zipped. You will need to unzip the downloaded files and extract the actual .ttf or .otf file before copying it into the fonts directory on the android device.

Re: A question about downloading fonts
The fonts offered each month on the Freefont[dot]de web site are, in general, TrueType and OpenType copies of fonts that are taken from SoftMaker's Megafont NOW! collection. I have downloaded several of them in the OpenType version (I have Megafont NOW! but those are all TrueType) and used a few of ...
