The list numbers starts outside the margin

Post by MadsMoelgaard »

Hello

I am testing the SoftMaker, and in TextMaker, when I make a list, the points/numbers are listed outside the margin on the left side.
This is despite the other text following the margin.
Is that an error, or is there a setting somewhere that I need to mark or unmark?

I have tried to follow some error solution suggestions, but non has worked.

Best regards

Be sure you have the visual rulers turned on, then inspect where your rulers are showing the margins for the paragraphs in the numbered list. The default should look like this:

TextMaker_Normal.JPG

Note that the indentation markers in the horizontal ruler are indented by 0.25". That's the default setting. I didn't change anything. In the next example, I again added some numbered paragraphs, but I manipulated the indentation to achieve what I think is what you are asking about. The paragraph numbering now falls outside of (to the left of) the margins.

TextMaker_Wrong.JPG

If you open the Format > Paragraph dialogue, for the first (default) example the Indents settings will show 0.25" left, 0" right, and 0" first line. But if I open the Format > Paragraph dialogue for the second example, the settings are now all 0".

I think this is the explanation of what is happening in your document. I cannot explain why that is happening, because for me the first example is the default in my system. I had to force it to display the way you are describing.
