TextMaker, background color in selected text
I have been a TextMaker user for several years, very satisfied, and I always hoped that at some point the background color could be changed in the selected texts. The one by default is very faint. I leave it as a suggestion, it will be a welcome improvement.

You can change the background color of selected text by using “Highlight text” and “Paragraph shading” features.

No. You are missing the point. Neither of these features changes just the on-screen appearance of text selected for some sort of edit. This is what text looks like on my screen if I just select it, without performing any edits:SuperTech wrote: Wed Oct 29, 2025 7:03 pm You can change the background color of selected text by using “Highlight text” and “Paragraph shading” features.
To use the highlight text tool involves first selecting the text, then using the highlight tool to change the color of the text background in the document, not just on the screen. Here's what highlighted text looks like:
Note that as soon as you choose a highlight color and apply it, the text is highlighted but it is no longer selected.
Personally, I don't have a problem with the default background color of selected text but, for those who can't see it well, being able to customize it would be useful.

Thank you for the feedback. Let's see if the new features meet the original poster's (OP's) requirements.
