Currency conversion

Post by JayHades »

Hello.

Looking around the built-in fonctions I stumbled upon EUROCONVERT(), which will convert currency between Europe countries only.

Is it planned to have a widen CurrConvert() or something, for other regions?

I am currently working on a spreadsheet heavily currency-inclined between USD and CAD and it would be a nice addition.
I could certainly script something using xe.com but as there is already something built-in for euros and Europeans countries, here I am asking.

Thanks!

Currently there is no such function available, but I have forwarded this improvement suggestion.

Former European currencies.

With the introduction of the Euro, the old currencies of the eurozone continued to exist in parallel for three years. This meant that it was often necessary to convert between national currencies and Euro. That is why EUROCONVERT() exists in Excel and, consequently, also in PlanMaker.

The function works with fixed conversion rates and is now essentially obsolete. It is only retained for backward compatibility.

I'm not sure if the function was really much in use, because everyone knew the fixed exchange rate to his own currency by heart.
