Array formulas default?

Post by sgtaylor5 »

Why are array formulas the default? I’ve read up on array formulas, and I’ve never used them and probably never will.

I have one master spreadsheet that I converted from Apple Numbers.

Array formulas are not the default in PlanMaker. A formula only becomes one if you confirm it with Cmd+Shift+Enter; a plain Enter always produces an ordinary formula. What you are seeing comes from the workbook itself — the conversion from Apple Numbers carried those formulas over as array formulas, and PlanMaker keeps them that way.

To turn such a formula back into a normal one, click into the cell, press Cmd+7 to select the whole array range, then retype or re-confirm the formula with Enter alone. Formulas entered in curly braces are the array ones, so they are easy to spot.
