Not very long ago I re-installed SoftMaker Free Office. Since then a few times the question came if I want to download a new Service Pack. Yes, of course!
The next thing was: “No valid products found. Please repair the installation”.
Also, as soon as I want to save a document, in .docx (my standard format), the question comes if I want to use the most recent compatibility modus with Microsoft Word, something like that. Yes, of course!
After changing the spelling control from Dutch to English it just stays Dutch.
Repair also fails. In the download folder there seemingly has to be "a valid SoftMaker Free Office .msi".
When I place the latest SoftMaker Free Office .msi in my download folder, the notification comes that this is not a valid .msi. (Just downloaded it from The SoftMaker website).
How can I go back to a normal SoftMaker behaviour? Re-install the program again?
Strange SoftMaker behaviour
Re: Strange SoftMaker behaviour
Thank you for your detailed report. To help you return to normal SoftMaker behavior, I recommend performing a clean reinstallation. Please follow these steps carefully:
1. Uninstall SoftMaker Free Office completely from your system.
2. Restart your computer to clear any temporary files.
3. Download a fresh copy of the latest SoftMaker Free Office installer from our official website.
4. Run the installer as an administrator (right‑click the .msi file and select "Run as administrator").
This should resolve the issues with service pack updates, document saving, and spell‑check language settings. If problems persist, please let us know, and we will investigate further.
