Bleed function

Post by AntonyW »

Hi all,
I'm looking for the bleed function in Textmaker 2024. I can't find it anywhere, and the word 'bleed' doesn't even return any results when I search this forum. The absence of any mention of a bleed - let alone the absence of a bleed function within the software itself - strikes me as mysterious! Is it called something else? If there is no bleed function in Textmaker, how come I'm the only one who feels the need for one?!!!

Are you referring to the space beyond the page edges, in order to allow images to reliably fill the printed page from edge to edge?

I would also find this function very useful, although I know it's not common in processors. It would be a HUGE leg-up on Microsoft Word in terms of book layout and design, however. Adobe InDesign and Affinity Publisher handle bleeds well, allowing you to also remove interior bleeds if needed.

Text editor software doesn't include a built-in function for bleed handling. At the user level, you'll need to adjust the page size to be slightly larger than the standard print dimensions and resize any background color/fill to accommodate the bleed.
