I have a scan of my written signature defined as a signature in FlexiPDF 2019. It gets inserted basically like an image box gets inserted in any word processing program, such a TextMaker. But -- FlexiPDF and TextMaker both don't handle these images the same way that Word and Libre Office Writer do.
When you insert a signature, usually it needs to be resized as well as dragged into position. But when resizing, it's important to maintain the aspect ratio. In Word and in Libre Office Writer, when an image frame is resized using the handles at the midpoints of each side, the frame is reduced or enlarged in width or in height and the aspect ratio changes. But when the frame is resized using the handles on the corners, both width and height are adjusted simultaneously and the aspect ratio is preserved.
FlexiPDF and Textmaker don't work that way. When the image frame is resized using the corner handles, the aspect ratio is not preserved. This is very inconvenient. To maintain the aspect ratio, in TextMaker you have to right click on the frame, go into Properties, then the Format tab, and manually adjust the image size -- while making certain that the box for "Keep aspect ratio" is checked. In FlexiPDF, I can't find any way to resize a signature frame while maintaining the aspect ratio. Size is not editable through Image > Properties.

Re: Another signature suggestion
Thanks for your post. As you mentioned TextMaker already has a solution to this problem.
For FlexiPDF also we have option there which is called scaling that you can access from Object> Scale > Uniform> mention the desired percentage of original size and FlexiPDF will resize the image maintaining the aspect ration.

Re: Another signature suggestion
The TextMaker "solution" isn't really a solution, it's an alternate method -- a work-around. It would be much better to have the image boxes respond the way they do in most other applications, whereby using the handles on the corners to resize the image maintains the aspect ratio.
The same applies to the method you describe for FlexiPDF. That method can accomplish the task but, compared to just grabbing the window handle and dragging, the alternate method is cumbersome, at best.

Re: Another signature suggestion
Regarding FlexiPDF 2019, yes, there needs to be a "preserve aspect ratio" check box associated with resizing an image (or signature) via image handles. The idea of manually calculating is seriously counterproductive.
