Shortcut for merging cells

The headline should say it all. Im working with tables a lot and need a shortcut for "merge cells". Please help

1. Select the cells you want to merge
2. Right mouse click on the selected cells=>Merge cells

Thanks for the reply but that is not what I meant. I need a shortcut for merging cells. I work with tables where I need to merge cells many times and it is very time consuming and straining to have to right-click, move the mouse and left-click when you have to it over and over again. In Excel I could at least copy paste a structure within the table and that helped but a shortcut would be a lot easier.

Please help someone. My hand is getting spasms!

Just to clear: like when you want to copy (ctrl+c) and paste (ctrl+v) you have shortcuts on the keyboard. In the same way I need a shortcut for merging cells.

As we are in the TextMaker forum and you refer to Excel: Is this a PlanMaker or a TextMaker issue?
But anyway: In both programs, you can define your own keyboard shortcut. Just go to Tools > Customise..., search for "Merge cells" in the left panel, then press "Shortcut keys" and define a shortcut.
