FreeOffice 2018 for Windows not compatible with Office 2010 documents

I copied some documents from my Windows 10 PC running Microsoft Office 2010 to another Windows 10 PC running FreeOffice 2018..

However I find that when I open the documents with TextMaster in FreeOffice 2018, all text and figures appear haywire. Why is that so? Is FreeOffice 2018 not compatible with Microsoft Office?
