Is a buy for lifetime?
When I buy the standard version of office and there comes an update, do I have to pay again? And if there comes an office 2020, do I have to buy this new office?

The purchase is for one version and all of its service packs. When a completely new version comes out, you can purchase it at a discounted price.
The alternative is SoftMaker Office NX, our subscription version. All new versions are included while you are subscribed.
