Column layout not retained within textboxes or shapes when saving/closing and reopening a TextMaker .docx file

Post by mralfalfasprouts »

Unsure where to notify people of bugs on this software so doing so here. Sorry if this is a duplicate bug report (did a quick search on the forums before posting).

Version: FreeOffice TextMaker 2021 (rev F1060.1203) 32bit
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Replication:
- Add a textbox to a .docx document, or add a shape and select the "add text" option.
- In the text of textbox or shape, go to Layout > Columns > Two. So you have two columns.
- Type in multiple lines of text so as to show clearly there are two columns of text.
- Save and close the document.
- Reopen the document.
- See that the Columns are no longer there and the text is in a default layout.

Bug is also replicated for any of the options under Columns (such as Three columns, Left Column or using the More option).

This is not seen in applying Columns to the page itself, it seems to occur when it is within elements.
Other Layout options such as Line Breaks don't seem to be affected, but haven't tested thoroughly beyond Columns.

In contrast to TextMaker, Microsoft Word does not support multiple columns inside text boxes, that is why it cannot be stored in DOCX format. Use TMDX format for that.

Wasn't aware of that. Thank you very much. Using tmdx format works perfectly. Not a bug!! :D
