Date Display Problem

Post by J-Mac »

Before I update to SoftMaker Office Pro 2021, I need to know if this date display error has been corrected.

I am having the same old date display error in SM Office 2018 that I have had in PlanMaker since I started using it in SoftMaker Office 2010: Though my time & date settings on my Windows 10 Pro machine are US English and Gregorian calendar - MMDDYYYY, PlanMaker always opens spreadsheets with the date format DDMMYYYY. I then must reformat ALL the date cells to MMDDYYYY. Very frustrating after 10 years of this!

Can anyone tell me if this has finally been corrected in SoftMaker Office 2021? I will not upgrade until I find out.

Thank you.

In that case, PlanMaker follows date format MM/DD/YYYY as default. But you can check all the features and can experience working of SoftMaker Office 2021 by installing it as a trial which will provide you enough time for testing.

Okay, I saw this post and decided to try this out. I am using rev S1014.

When I type 061820 (today's date) in cell A1, right click on that data cell, select "Cell" and click on Number format / Date/Time, the result comes back as 04/02/69. Why did my data convert to the date shown?

When you type 061820 in Cell A1, PlanMaker converts it into number removing zero so it became 61820 and then when you changed its number format to date it converts 61820 to 04/02/69, which is correct conversion.

If you want to show today's date(Dynamically), you can simply type =Today() and this function will place today's date or for static date type 06/18/2020 or 06/18/20 then PlanMaker will take it as a date.

Thanks
