Transferring Setup Template File
The title was probably not worded correctly, therefore I’ll simply explain what I want to do and perhaps someone can assist me. My wife and I use the same computer at times (HP Laptop Win 10). I have Textmaker all setup just the way I like it. I put Textmaker on her profile. Is there a file I can copy from my Textmaker to make hers look and work the same? I can’t imagine trying to manually adjust everything.

Re: Transferring Setup Template File
Thank you for posting your query. Yes, we have advance feature available in SoftMaker Office using which you can export and import all settings.
Please click on File | Options | Manage and then export all the settings from your profile and on her profile, please follow the same procedure to import all the settings.

OK, I have no Options tab on my File menu. The only Options tab I have is on the Tools menu and that has no Manage tab. Perhaps I should mention that I have the free version of TextMaker?
Re: Transferring Setup Template File
Then you'll have to copy the Documents\SoftMaker\Settings from one computer to the other
Maybe also the Documents\SoftMaker\Templates folder too

Re: Transferring Setup Template File
I copied both folders over and it works just fine. Don't ask me to find them again, it was pure accident. Thank you very much.

Are you using the classic interface?kilogulf59 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 1:21 pmOK, I have no Options tab on my File menu. The only Options tab I have is on the Tools menu and that has no Manage tab. Perhaps I should mention that I have the free version of TextMaker?
Tools > Options opens a pop-up window with several tabs across the top. Ignore them. Toward the lower left is a box labeled "Manage."

Honestly, I don't know which interface I'm using. Insofar as the Tools/Options menu is concerned, I have no Manage tab anywhere.

That's pretty much what I did. It worked. I really should save a copy of those folders/files for future reference, JIC.
Re: Transferring Setup Template File
That's not surprising, since neither Miguel-C nor I said it was a tab.kilogulf59 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 12:41 pmHonestly, I don't know which interface I'm using. Insofar as the Tools/Options menu is concerned, I have no Manage tab anywhere.

Semantics? OK, the word "manage" does not appear anywhere.kilogulf59 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 12:41 pmInsofar as the Tools/Options menu is concerned, I have no Manage tab anywhere.
Re: Transferring Setup Template File
Could it be that you are still using SoftMaker Office 2018? The "Manage" feature was introduced with SMO 2021. Or is it FreeOffice?

Re: Transferring Setup Template File
It's got to be Freeoffice, I'm not paying for it
Re: Transferring Setup Template File
FreeOffice doesn‘t have this feature. This leaves you with the option to copy the "settings" folder.
