TextMaker: quick editing of styles

Post by captainping » Wed Dec 30, 2020 9:14 pm

I'm evaluating whether TextMaker is a good replacement for Microsoft Word.

In Word, I'm used to being able to quickly edit a style by editing a paragraph using that style, then re-selecting the style from the style popup. Word then displays an alert asking whether I'd like to re-apply the style or edit it. TextMaker seems to just re-apply the style.

Is there a similarly quick way to edit a style in TextMaker? Or perhaps: What are ALL the ways to edit styles in TextMaker?

Hi Christopher,

in the commercial version of TextMaker, all styles (paragraph and character styles) are listed in the right sidebar. When you right-click one of these styles, the context menu gives you the following options:
* Apply
* New...
* New from text...
* Edit...
* Update from text...
* Delete
* Rename...
Additional buttons at the bottom of the sidebar give you all these options, too (and access to the style manager). So there is more than one way to edit styles in TextMaker.
