VLOOKUP() function not working between two different files

Post by DanielFiresword » Sun Feb 07, 2021 5:33 pm

I am currently using SoftMaker FreeOffice for Linux, and I am facing an issue with VLOOKUP. I have a critical use case where I am required to fetch certain data into a spreadsheet (sheet 1) using data from a different .xlsx file (sheet 2), which I also opened in PlanMaker. However, I am unable to enter in the reference table (located in sheet 2) as per the formula

Data to enter in Sheet 1 =VLOOKUP(<RefCell in Sheet 1>, <Ref table in sheet 2>, column no, 0)

I would like some help in this regard. Could someone point me to a solution to this problem? Or is it a bug?

(sorry for bad grammar, my first language is not English)

Sheet1 and Sheet 2 are in two different files. Sheet 1 is in File 1, and Sheet 2 is in File 2.

Please use this Formula syntax =VLOOKUP(Matching Cell,'Target File path[Target File Name with ext.]Worksheet name'!Range,n,Sorted)

For example : VLOOKUP(G13,'D:\MyFiles\[temp File.xlsx]Sheet1'!$K:$L,2,0)

Thank you!

Is there any way I can automatically get that file location? In MS-Excel, if I select a range from another sheet, it automatically inputs the file location/path into the formula, instead of manually adding it. Would appreciate it if I can get something like that in PlanMaker.
