System unable to see freeoffice saved text

Post by jfbgduhamel » Sat Sep 07, 2019 10:40 pm

Good afternoon
I am using linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon 64 bits.
I have installed the very last version of freeoffice 2018 (rev970) today morning and tried it.
I wrote a small text file and saved it under textmaker native format, and also odc as well as odt in my usual text processor files directory.
Then I closed Textmaker.
I searched this text file with LibreOffice to reopen it: UNVISIBLE, as well as on the LibreOffice File dialog
I searched it again with Textmaker: IT WAS VISIBLE WITH THE TEXTMAKER FILE DIALOG where I saved it in its 3 forms.
The system file explorer is parametered to display hidden files, as well as Textmaker file dialog.

Big mystery: Have I missed something or is this a bug from your software ? I do not understand.
Waiting for news, I have uninstalled FreeOffice to go back to LibreOffice.

Best regards

Hi, I downloaded Linux Mint 19.2 64bits from here https://www.osboxes.org/linux-mint/ and then ran it in VMWare.

I then downloaded the FreeOffice 64bit deb package and installed it.

Afterwards I created a document and saved it in the 3 formats you mentioned.

I then went to the file explorer and was able to see the files with hidden files ON and OFF.

The files were visible also in Libre Office.

So I wasn't able to reproduce the issue :(
