doc turns to pdf before I can print SOLVED!
Hello and thank you for this wonderful program!
I am wondering why my doc files always turn into pdf before I can print them. Am I misunderstanding how the program works or am I doing something wrong? I printed 6 pages (textmaker turned doc file into pdf first) in 10 minutes and I can't tie up the printer like that at work.

Re: doc turns to pdf before I can print
Under Linux, TextMaker creates a temporary PDF or PostScript file, then sends it to the printer. This is how printing is usually done under Linux. It is done automatically (so I am wondering what you are actually seeing from this hidden action). What problem are you experiencing with it?

Re: doc turns to pdf before I can print
There is a long wait for document to spool to the printer (more than a minute). I have to leave document open after telling it to print or it will not print if I close the window too soon.
Re: doc turns to pdf before I can print
1. Does it happen with all files or only with some?
2. Could you please email me one of those files?
3. What Linux version do you have?

PSE be more specific, as your latest post does not fit under the topic you have chosen and it does not respond to Mister Kotulla's question. I repeat then :
“How do you get to see a temporary PDF-file upon printing docx?”.
If this is not your problem, PSE take the time to change the subject line in your original post as this is what will be shown in the article-lists of this forum.
Otherwise, also answer Miguel's questions, right above.
TY.

Re: doc turns to pdf before I can print
It is a quick glimpse of a small window. It takes a long time for .docx to convert to pdf. It happens with all files. Lubuntu 18.04. I read somewhere else on the forum and someone said to reinstall printer after installing FreeOffice. It worked for a while. Now it won't print at all unless I export .docx to pdf first.

Hi, could you please go to "? | About | Write System Information" and send us the generated file? Thanks
Re: doc turns to pdf before I can print
Sir, You have me at disadvantage. Where to send the generated file?

Re: doc turns to pdf before I can print
When I reread all the posts, I could not believe so many responses. I did try to answer all the questions. I am using the Freeoffice Textmaker on an old iMac 32 bit efi with Lubuntu 18.04 64 bit installed. I have sort of solved the problem. Lubuntu 18.04 has three dependencies for snapd installed (no snapd installed). This program has caused me no end of grief until I uninstalled it's dependencies. Issues are now gone! Now I can print in a reasonable amount of time and I no longer see that flash of a tiny window saying convert to pdf. Thank you guys so much and hope this helps someone else.
