Mistake with Plan ?
Mistake with Plan ?
Good morning,
I found an error that I can't explain on FreeOffice's Plan 2018.
I had a table on Excel 2003, it was a very simple accounting table with only additions and subtractions, no multiplications, no divisions, no percentage calculations.
I wanted to open and use this table with Plan, it worked without difficulty. Then I added a formula like =if(a1=a2;"YES";"NO"). It wasn't working properly. After research I realized that several numbers of the Excel table as for example 75.67 with only 2 decimal places became on the table Plan 75.67000000000016.
This has happened on several tables
The solution was to use a rounding formula, but I would like to know why the numbers were changed.
Thank you in advance,
Kind regards.

Re: Mistake with Plan ?
Good evening,
I just tested the Plan 2018 spreadsheet again. Using a new sheet, I entered some numbers, manually, directly, without going through Excel, with only 2 decimal places. Then I formatted these numbers to 15 decimal places, there should only be zeros after the second decimal place, but I see numbers starting from the 11th decimal place. I did this test several times, on new sheets each time I find this problem…

Hello,
Is there no solution to this problem ?

Re: Mistake with Plan ?
As I mentioned earlier I have forwarded the details to our developers team and whenever I receive any response, I will update here.
However, it seems you are expecting a numeric accuracy up to the nth decimal which is simply not there with floatingpoint operations:

Re: Mistake with Plan ?
Hello,
I do not understand why if I type for example 52.33, Plan inscribed 52.330000000000005
