Sidebar question

Post by Woody44 » Mon Sep 07, 2020 11:01 am

In TextMaker and Presentations, using the classic menu I can go to the 'View" menu and hide the sidebar.

That doesn't work in PlanMaker. Is it possible to hide the sidebar in PlanMaker? If so, how?

No. You can resize it however.

Oops.

That worked -- too well. It's gone, which is what I wanted. But how do I get it back if I want/need it?

On the left center side of the Sidebar there is a thin button.
Clicking on the button will toggle closing and opening the Sidebar.

This sidebar matter is very odd. In my version of Freemaker, I can't stop either Textmaker or Planmaker from launching with the sidebar open: presumably it does this because it carries advertising for the paid Softmaker. In both programs, I can hide the sidebar either by dragging the border (between the program window and the sidebar window) to the right, or double-clicking on the tiny tab in the middle of the program/sidebar divider. In Textmaker I can also use View / Sidebar / Hide but in Planmaker the Hide option in View / Pivot Table Sidebar is greyed out and unavailable.

The situation is the same if I close the sidebar window and the save the document as my default template.

I suppose this is just inconsistent programming in a free version of the product?

As these are free applications, showing advertisements from time to time is normal, which you also confirmed that you can close easily.
