Please try to rename the Documents\Softmaker folder and see it fixes the problem.

The name of the SoftMaker folder in the Documents was changed to Soft Machine and it seems that the problem is now gone.

I will report if it comes back.

The problem is 100% back/still existing. (After a new install of SoftMaker).

I changed the name of the SoftMaker folder again, but this time it does not help.

As renaming the folder fixed this problem previously, please restart your computer once, rename SoftMaker folder without opening any application and then check this problem again.

After the first restart I had 2 SoftMaker folders: one with the old name and one with the new name. I deleted the one with the new name.

After the second restart I changed the name of the folder that was still there.

No result: the document that is open first is corrupted as soon as I look at a second one.

New hope:

In the past I changed the name SoftMaker to Soft Machine, with a space.

Yesterday I chose the name SoftMachine, without a space and without success.

Now today I've changed the name again to Soft Machine, with a space and now it seems to be okay.

I say: seems.

Maybe a name without space looks too much like the old name. (?)

Actually, it doesn't matter what new name you gave to this folder, but it's good if this resolved your problem.

Every time I change the name of the folder, a new folder is created with the name SoftMaker and then I have two folders.

Yes, as older one is the backup folder and new one is the current folder with all fresh settings.

As we have already released FreeOffice 2021, please completely remove FreeOffice 2018 and then install FreeOffice 2021 after system restart.

Please also update your Windows and drivers as this problem is seems related to your computer.

This new installation was: completely removing version 2018 and version 2021, and then a new installation of version 2021.

I am not interested in any backup: can the backup folder be deleted?

When I had only one folder named SoftMaker, there was no backup folder.

Windows and the drivers are always up-to-date. As far as I know.

Please click on ribbon command File | Options | Files | in the field backup, please select "No backup" and then click OK if you don't want backup feature.

Changing the name of the SoftMaker folder does not help and even if I disable backups there is always a second SoftMaker folder. Despite your opinion that it would be due to the backup settings.

We have checked and analyze that this problem is because of printer driver, so please install your printer driver and then check again. Also, please make sure that you are using FreeOffice 2021.
