Manage PlanMaker Currency Display

Post by Wondering »

I am on an extended stay in Portugal having travelled from the United States. I am using the purchased version of SoftMaker Office 2018 for Mac on a MacBook Pro laptop. I have changed my time zone setting to Portugal. I do not know whether changing the time zone setting has anything to do with my issue, but the issue is PlanMaker now displays currency like this: $1 000,00 instead of what I have always seen in The States as $1,000.00. What MacBook Pro or PlanMaker setting do I need to navigate to in order make a setting that will have currency displayed in the fashion that is most familiar to me, i.e. $1,000.00. Thank you for your help.

Hi, I wasn't able to reproduce the issue you describe (MacOS 10.14.6 and PlanMaker 970).
My test setup was:
1: MacOS regional settings: United States
2: MacOS timezone: New York EST.
3. I then changed the timezone from New York to Lisbon
4. Opened PlanMaker. The currency was still $1,000.00

In order for you to change the decimal separator:
1. Open macOS's spotlight and search for region
2. Change to United States
3. Click Advanced... You'll see the decimal separator there.
4. Open Planmaker

Muitu Obrigad Miguel,

The advanced button under "Language & Region" in Mac OS gave me a "Numbers separator:" option field where I was able to set the "Decimal" to a dot / period and then SoftMaker PlanMaker reflected the change. It then caused the "Region" field to report "Portugal (Custom). Did the trick. Thanks again for helping me feel comfortable.
